Yesterday I went to the grocery store to purchase all of the ingredients for my favorite taco salad. I was planning a dinner party for last night and wanted to make sure everything was JUST perfect. I purchased the following items for my dish: Ground beef, kidney beans, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, taco seasoning and taco chips. For the dressing I purchased mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, vegetable oil, salt, pepper and mustard.

When I got home I left the meat out on the counter to thaw before I cooked it:

After the meat had thawed for about 4 hours, I placed it on the cutting board and chopped it up before placing it in the pan. Then I opened the head of lettuce and chopped all my vegetables with the knife and cutting board.


After I was finished making the salad dressing at 2 PM, I left it sit out on the table until my guests arrived at 6 PM.


Several of my guests called this morning to let me know the taco salad was DELICIOUS but they have not been feeling so well today. Their symptoms all included: UPSET STOMACH, DIARRHEA, NAUSEA and HEADACHES.I sent each of them a bottle of pepto-bismol and a get well note.


What did I do wrong??? HELP!!!!!!! Sincerely, SALAD SICKNESS in SEATTLE :(
